Here’s an update about my upcoming gig at Mr. Henry’s,  601 Pennsylvania Ave SE, Washington, D.C., Saturday, November 3, from 8 to 11 p.m.

Joining me will be three exciting musicians, pictured above (left to right): George Oakley on reeds and flute, Nick Lipkowski on guitar and Scott Giambusso on bass. You’ll love what they do.

Next gig: July 22 at Villain & Saint

Hey, I’m thrilled to be back at Villain & Saint7141 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, Md, this time on Sunday, July 22, 8 to 10:30 p.m. And I’m just as excited to be joined there by Chris Grasso on piano, Percy White on bass and Lenny Robinson on drums. It should be a lot of fun.

Mr HenrysConsider my upcoming gig at Mr. Henry’s on Saturday, November 25, from 8 to 11 p.m., a big opportunity. It’s the Saturday after Thanksgiving, at which point you will likely have tired of playing board games with your relatives, had your fill of museums and seen all the holiday weekend’s blockbuster movies. By this time, you will have picked all the meat off your turkey carcass and have no more cranberry sauce and stuffing to eat right out of the refrigerator. You will need a break, a diversion, a fresh perspective. I’ve got just the thing for you — and for your whole family.

Music, with no less than great musicians like Jim Levy on keyboards, Tyler Leak on drums and Ethan Foote on bass. Oh, and I’ll be singing.

2017 Villain and Saint7Here’s the news about two upcoming gigs: one on Sunday, October 22, 4 to 6 p.m., at Villain & Saint  in Bethesda; and another on Saturday, November 25, from 8 to 11 p.m., at Mr. Henry’s (Thanksgiving weekend!).

Joining me at Villain & Saint will be With me will be pianist Jim Levy,  Percy White on bass, and drummer Ele Rubenstein. Jim and Ele will be with me again at Mr. Henry’s, along with Ethan Foote on bass.

Villain & Saint, which describes itself as “a Haight-Ashbury-inspired rock ‘n’ roll music hall,” which obviously has room for the eclectic mix of standard and not-so-standard jazz tunes we’ll be playing. The Villain & Saint kitchen offers “classic bar-fare of hamburgers, loaded nachos, chicken wings and quesadillas and “a standout selection of premium whiskies and bourbons, American beers, and a slew of signature cocktails.” Perfect for a Sunday afternoon.

I told my wife that I didn’t think this gig would compete with a big, exciting event her organization, Yachad, is having a week later in D.C. So prove me right, and please consider going to both.
