Next Gig: Jan. 22 – Art Soiree’s Living Room Series Live at Ritz-Carlton Georgetown

JAN-22NDIf I might borrow a phrase, you deserve a break on Thursday, January 22 — if not most other days. You know, leaving the worries of the day behind and relaxing in a living room-like setting with some friends as live music plays.

That’s the night I’ll be performing in the Living Room Live Series, which Art Soiree, the producer of the event, calls a concert series that “spotlights emerging artists.” It all takes place in the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown’s lobby-lounge, which has the ambiance of an actual living room (with a fireplace and drinks and all).

I’ll be singing jazz songs from the Great American Songbook, along with pieces from other related genres. If that’s a little too vague for you, click here to listen to a few of my recordings with these same guys.

Backing me up will be some of the city’s best: George Oakley (reeds and woodwinds), Scott Giambusso (bass) and Nick Lipkowski (guitar). (We’re actually a quartet.)

As if that’s not exciting enough, the show is also free — but you have to RSVP. To get your ticket, click here.

Doors open at 7 p.m. The performance starts at 8, and we’ll play until 10:30 p.m. Seating is first-come-first-served.

I’m mighty grateful to Sandro, the founder of Art Soiree, for having me play. Art Soiree curates and stages contempoary art exhibitions, festivals and art projects. Sandro and his partner Tati have presented more than 300 unique exhibitions and programs since 2009, featuring more than 400 contemporary artists. They also offer full production and artistic marketing services to private and business clients.

So I hope you can join us on January 22. Please, don’t do it for me. Do yourself a favor. You deserve it.
