June 2 Gig Inaugurates Weekly Jazz Night at Bistro Bohem

I’m excited to help Bistro Bohem inaugurate a new weekly jazz series on Sunday, June 2, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in its Kafe. Joining me will be George Oakley (reeds and woodwinds), Scott Giambusso (bass) and Nick Lipkowski (guitar). As usual, we’ll be playing Great American Songbook standards and maybe a few other surprises.

A relatively new arrival in the growing galaxy of innovative D.C. restaurants, Bistro Bohem recreates a Prague cafe ambiance in the historic U Street/Shaw neighborhood in D.C. Its Central European cuisine (well-known to my friends back in Chicago) is a rarity in these parts, and it has already won acclaim from reviewers and customers, who are packing the place regularly. So even if you’re not interested in the music, at least come for the culinary experience.

The restaurant is at 600 Florida Ave NW, Washington, D.C. Phone: 202.735.5895.

No cover charge.

Please join us for what should be a fun night. And bring friends.

Jeff
