I’m back at the Black Fox Lounge, Wednesday, January 1, 8 to 11 p.m., after a surprisingly strong turnout this past New Year’
s Day. Joining me (vocals) will be Oren Levine (piano) and Eliot Seppa (bass) playing Great American Songbook jazz classics and much more.

Spend Wednesday, January 1, 8 to 11 p.m., with me (vocals), Peter Runk (piano) and Eliot Seppa (bass) at the Black Fox Lounge to recover from your wild New Year’s Eve and to savor the last moments of the jolly holidays before you head out into the dark and cold of January (does anyone ever have anything nice to say about January?).

Hope to see you there.
You may or may not know that I’ve recently started my own business. Like any self-respecting American company, I figured mine must have a holiday party. So I asked the Special Projects Division of my company to assign a Holiday Party Task Force, made up of some of the most tasteful party experts. Their assignment: to come up with an idea for our first annual event. After months of deliberation and multiple field tests, their recommendation, which I have accepted, is to combine the company holiday party with one of my twice-monthly engagements at the Black Fox Lounge. Such an obvious and elegant solution! Why didn’t I, the boss, think of that?
So please come by the Black Fox on Wednesday, December 18, from 8 to 11 p.m., not just to hear Oren Levine (piano) and Eliot Seppa (bass) and me (vocals) perform Great American Songbook standards and such. Join us also in observance of the Great American Office Holiday Party.
Here’s how it works. Go to the Black Fox at 1723 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. Walk in and find a seat. Order drinks or food. Listen to the music. Have fun. I won’t be buying rounds of drinks, but I will sing to you. Is that something you might be interested in?
Oh, and there’s no cover charge.
Come celebrate. Hope to see you there.

If you missed us at the Black Fox Lounge on November 20, you’ve got another shot at us on Wednesday, December 4, 8 to 11 p.m. — and then again on December 18. Joining me will be Peter Runk on piano and Charlie Himel on bass.
The Black Fox is at 1723 Connecticut Ave NW, in Washington, D.C., the heart of DuPont Circle nightlife. No cover. We hope you can make it.
As this grainy photo might suggest, we had a great time last week at the Black Fox Lounge. Joining me then were Oren Levine on piano and Eliot Seppa on bass. We’ll be back there next week, November 20, from 8 to 11 p.m., for another night of jazz.

We’re back again at Bistro Bohem for Jazz Night, Sunday, November 3, from 8 to 10 p.m. Joining me will be George Oakley (reeds and woodwinds), Ethan Foote, (bass) and Nick Lipkowski (guitar). We’ll be playing Great American Songbook standards and maybe a few other surprises. Bistro Bohem features Central European food (primarily Czech) and great beers from the region. Click here to see the full menu. The restaurant is at 600 Florida Ave NW, Washington, D.C. Phone: 202.735.5895. No cover charge.
Also, I’ll be at the Black Fox Lounge in DuPont Circle in Washington, on Wednesday, November 6, 8 to 11 p.m., with Oren Levine on keys and possibly a bass player (still working on that).
Come on out to one or both of these shows. It will be great to see you.
Friends, I have a better option. Join me and jazz pianist Oren Levine at the Black Fox Lounge, 1723 Connecticut Ave, NW, Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, October 16, 8 to 11 p.m., only moments before the debt ceiling deadline. Look at it this way, if we all going down, why not go down together?
And as we do, you’ll hear Oren and me perform old standards whose time-honored messages will shed new light on the current crisis:
So come by on October 16 for a bite and some drink. Oren and I will be on the main level of the Black Fox, right in the window as you come off the street. This is the first of a regular series of engagements there, every first and third Wednesday of each month.
And don’t forget to join me at Bistro Bohem on Sunday, November 3, 8 to 10 p.m. More on that later.
See you soon,
Jeff
I’ll be keeping busy these next few weeks at both the Black Fox Lounge and Bistro Bohem.
On Wednesday, October 16, 8 to 11 p.m., and then again on Wednesday, November 6 (same time), I’ll be at the Black Fox (pictured below) with Oren Levine on piano. We’ll be in the front window of the place, so you won’t miss us when you come in. No cover, and the usual Great American Songbook (and more) material. Black Fox is at 1723 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington, D.C., right in the heart of DuPont Circle. This is
the start of regular appearances on the first and third Wednesdays of each month.
Then, on Sunday, November 3, 8 to 10 p.m,. I’ll be with George Oakley (sax, clarinet, flute), Nick Lipkowski (guitar) and a bass player to be named at Bistro Bohem, 600 Florida Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. Also, no cover.
I hope to see you on all these evenings. Should be a lot of fun.
Jeff
