Spend Wednesday, January 1, 8 to 11 p.m., with me (vocals), Peter Runk (piano) and Eliot Seppa (bass) at the Black Fox Lounge to recover from your wild New Year’s Eve and to savor the last moments of the jolly holidays before you head out into the dark and cold of January (does anyone ever have anything nice to say about January?).
The Black Fox is at 1723 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. There will be food and drink for you, but, alas, no cover charge.
Hope to see you there.
You may or may not know that I’ve recently started my own business. Like any self-respecting American company, I figured mine must have a holiday party. So I asked the Special Projects Division of my company to assign a Holiday Party Task Force, made up of some of the most tasteful party experts. Their assignment: to come up with an idea for our first annual event. After months of deliberation and multiple field tests, their recommendation, which I have accepted, is to combine the company holiday party with one of my twice-monthly engagements at the Black Fox Lounge. Such an obvious and elegant solution! Why didn’t I, the boss, think of that?
So please come by the Black Fox on Wednesday, December 18, from 8 to 11 p.m., not just to hear Oren Levine (piano) and Eliot Seppa (bass) and me (vocals) perform Great American Songbook standards and such. Join us also in observance of the Great American Office Holiday Party.
Here’s how it works. Go to the Black Fox at 1723 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. Walk in and find a seat. Order drinks or food. Listen to the music. Have fun. I won’t be buying rounds of drinks, but I will sing to you. Is that something you might be interested in?
Oh, and there’s no cover charge.
Come celebrate. Hope to see you there.
